Overview
Description
The Supervisor for the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Program provides supervision to FFT clinicians and provides senior-level assessment, treatment, and psychoeducational services for the benefit of CTS clients according to the FFT model. The Supervisor also carries a caseload of no more than six cases at a time. The Site Supervisor manages the clinical and administrative needs of the program.
- Model professional behavior, demonstrate rapport-building and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and families and conforms to CTS standards, COA standards and codes of conduct.
- Trains FFT clinicians and provides clinical oversight to FFT clinical teams. Facilitates individual and group supervision.
- Provides psychoeducation to clients and families.
- Conducts in-person interventions with clients in accord with FFT. Maintains caseload.
- Assists families in preventing/manages crisis. Respond to client crisis with prescribed procedures for de-escalation, crisis management and behavior management. Demonstrate a trauma-informed response to clients based on Safe Crisis Management guidelines
- Provides clinical and administrative direction to staff using the FFT model in adherence to the phase-based goals including: 1) Engage and motivate youth and their families; 2)Change Behavior, and 3)Generalize changes across problem situations
- Manages referrals and maintains regular contact with referral sources and assigns cases.
- Directs clinicians on how to resolve clinical problems associated with FFT delivery within the FFT model.
- Communicates observations both verbally and in the client’s electronic health record using prescribed formats and terminology. Ensures clients/families complete informed consents writes progress notes and other documents consistent with the FFT model.
- Participates in and accept supervision as scheduled with clinical leaders.
- Attends CTS and external trainings in pursuit of professional development and career growth. Participates in meetings and groups that support the CTS mission and FFT program.
- Follow CTS agency policies and procedures regarding work practices and expectations.
- Ability to support a youth and family’s spiritual and cultural background, gender identity and sexual orientation and practices through culturally competent behaviors.
- Knowledge of youth and adult services systems such as health, education, housing, vocational, and criminal justice and able to make referrals when necessary. Knowledge about the DCPP, CSOC and juvenile justice system.
- Knowledge of child development, family dynamics and the psychological impact of abuse and trauma.
- Additional job responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or a related field and a current clinical license in the state of NJ (LAC, LSW, LPC, LCSW) required. Experience with Functional Family Therapy a plus.
