Governor Sherrill Announces $5 Million NJ World Cup Community Initiative Grant Recipients

On May 6, the CCSNJ attended Governor Mikie Sherrill's announcement of $5 million in grants awarded through the NJ World Cup Community Initiative to support 34 New Jersey-based organizations hosting public fan experiences and community events ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026™. All $5 million has been allocated and locations have been selected, The full list can be found here.


This initiative developed and funded by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) will support community-driven activations, which will bring the excitement and economic impact of the World Cup to neighborhoods across New Jersey. The grants will help activate fan zones, street fairs, watch parties, and festivals that showcase New Jersey’s communities and amplify the impact of small businesses throughout the state.


CCSNJ was pleased to be present as an advocate for South Jersey businesses and will continue to monitor World Cup-related economic opportunities for our region
