Atlantic City Teens Join Forces to Prepare Nearly 4,000 Meals for Neighbors in Need
Atlantic City, NJ (August 5, 2025) — In a powerful display of youth leadership and community service, teens and preteens from the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City’s Torch Club and Keystone Club rolled up their sleeves to help fight hunger in the region. Partnering with the Street Love Foundation, the group helped prepare 3,960 nutritious meals as part of a large-scale volunteer event held at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City.
Organized by the Street Love Foundation in collaboration with Meals of Hope, the event brought together nearly 150 volunteers on July 23. In just two and a half hours, the group packed a total of over 55,000 meals for local food banks and charitable organizations serving the Atlantic City and Philadelphia areas, including families in need at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. The meals—featuring shelf-stable options like oatmeal and rice with beans—were prepared with 10,000 pounds of food provided by Meals of Hope.
“This was an extraordinary opportunity for our teens to live out the values of leadership and service,” said Carmen E. Torres, Senior Director of Programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. “They not only contributed to a vital community cause but also experienced firsthand the power of collective action.”
The Street Love Foundation, founded on compassion and community care, continues its mission to assist individuals experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, and financial hardship. Fueled by volunteers and generosity, the organization ensures that every effort is grounded in dignity, empathy, and love.
