Bestwork Celebrates Successful Second Annual Dining in the Dark Gala

Bestwork celebrated the success of its second annual Dining in the Dark gala on September 24 at Adventure Aquarium, raising more than $51,000 net to support and expand its Blindness and Low Vision Services Center (BLVSC).
The evening brought guests together for a unique dining experience designed to offer a glimpse into the challenges faced by individuals who are blind or have low vision. Attendees dined blindfolded, enjoyed live entertainment from Jimmy & the Parrots, and were joined by emcee Dave Spadaro, Philadelphia Eagles Insider, who shared the excitement of the evening alongside his Super Bowl rings. A special appearance by Cassie the penguin added to the memorable event.
Proceeds from the gala will directly support the expansion of Bestwork’s Blindness and Low Vision Services Center, helping the organization continue its mission of empowering individuals who are blind or have low vision throughout the community.
Bestwork extends its sincere appreciation to the event sponsors, including ACCSES New Jersey, Matthew Santillo with Ameriprise Financial, Holman HQ, PKF O’Connor Davies, TD Bank, U.A. Local Union 322, and Wipfli, as well as the many donors whose generosity helped make the evening a success.
Through the support of its sponsors, donors, and attendees, Bestwork continues to advance its mission of building a brighter, more inclusive future for individuals with blindness and low vision.
Bestwork looks forward to welcoming guests back for the third annual Dining in the Dark gala in 2027. Additional details will be announced soon.
