BrightBloom Centers Expands Services for Children with Autism to Southern New Jersey
New location allows more opportunities for young learners to grow
SWEDESBORO, NJ – BrightBloom Centers, a leading provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
therapy for children with autism and special needs, is opening a new location in Swedesboro, the first of
its kind for southern New Jersey. Families from Asbury, Auburn, Mullica Hill, Prospect, and nearby
communities will no longer have to travel great distances to get services for their children, including
diagnostic, early intervention, and school-based support.
BrightBloom offers a safe and enriching environment for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
that promotes independence, discovery, connection, learning, and fun. Partnering with families and
schools, the compassionate team of Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBA), Registered Behavior
Technicians (RBT), and trained paraprofessionals use ABA therapy, a proven science-based approach to
help children reach their full learning potential. The experienced staff develop and implement
individualized learning plans to achieve meaningful outcomes and positive change for each child from 18
months to 12 years.
While the causes for autism are still unknown and there is no cure, multiple studies suggest that early
diagnosis and intervention improve outcomes and increase the chances of an independent and fulfilling
life. The gold standard for autism treatment is ABA therapy, endorsed as an evidence-based best practice
treatment by the U.S. Surgeon General and the American Psychological Association. ABA uses the
science of learning and behavior to increase language and communication skills, social skills, academics,
and decrease problem behaviors.
In December 2021, the CDC reported that 1 in 44 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with ASD, a 22%
increase in prevalence from the year prior. ASD is a developmental disability that can cause a wide range
of challenges in social interaction, communication, and behavior.
“Access to ABA programs continues to be a challenge for many families in southern New Jersey. While
funding has improved in the last five years through public (Medicaid) and private sources, the number of
qualified professionals in the field still does not meet the increasing demand,” said BrightBloom CEO
Diliana Henry. “Our team is ready and invested in this community to help make a difference and fill the
need for families by offering home-based and center-based ABA therapy, diagnostic services, early
intervention treatment, and school-based programs.”
The new center is located at 545 Beckett Road in Swedesboro. BrightBloom Centers hold the Behavioral
Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE®) accreditation, which recognizes behavioral health excellence in
the areas of clinical quality, staff qualifications, and consumer satisfaction.
