CAMDEN, NJ – In coordination with Hunger Action Month, the City of Camden is proud to share outcomes of its ongoing partnership with DoorDash and area nonprofits to tackle food insecurity in Camden’s most vulnerable communities.

Through this partnership, DoorDash provided the City of Camden $17,500 in gift cards through its Community Credits program to support over 600 Camden families. These Community Credits were allocated by DoorDash to local organizations working to broaden food access as part of its support for the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.

Community Credits were distributed as follows:

1. Adopt a Family Christmas Program: $5,000.
2. Mayor’s Event with Haason Reddrick: $3,750.
3. Safe & Warm (Dept. of Human Services senior programming): $3,750.
4. American Red Cross: $1,250.
5. Center for Family Services: $1,250.
6. Food Bank of South Jersey: $1,250.
7. Emergency support for victims of fires: $675.
8. Camden City Bureau of Recreation’s Juneteenth Program: $300.

As we enter Hunger Action Month, I’m proud that Camden is making a difference in combating food insecurity.”

Through its partnership with DoorDash, the City of Camden received a total of 700 Community credits in the form of DoorDash gift cards that can be used for food or other essential items to local organizations that are working to broaden food access.
