Cooper Levenson CEO Lloyd D. Levenson Appointed to Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill’s “Driving New Jersey Forward: Economic Development and Innovation” T

Cooper Levenson is proud to announce that Lloyd D. Levenson, Chief Executive Officer of Cooper Levenson, has been appointed to Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill’s transition team, serving on the Driving New Jersey Forward: Economic Development and Innovation Action Team.

Governor-elect Sherrill unveiled ten expert-led Action Teams today as part of an ambitious, collaborative initiative to guide early policy planning for her incoming administration. These teams will focus on New Jersey’s most pressing priorities — from affordability and infrastructure to job creation and innovation — and will bring together leaders from across sectors to help ensure the administration is ready to “hit the ground running” on Day One.

Levenson, widely regarded as a leading voice in South Jersey’s business and economic landscape, will represent Atlantic City, Atlantic County, and the broader South Jersey region. His appointment reflects his decades of experience in redevelopment, tourism, gaming, hospitality, and the emerging innovation sectors including healthcare and technology.

Levenson’s appointment comes as his leadership and longstanding commitment to the region are being recognized on December 2nd at the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence Awards where he will receive the 2025 Business Leader Award.

“I am honored to join Governor-elect Sherrill’s transition effort and contribute South Jersey’s voice to the statewide conversation about economic growth and innovation,” said Levenson. “Our region is uniquely positioned for job creation, infrastructure investment, business attraction, and modernization. I look forward to collaborating with leaders across New Jersey to help chart a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking economic future.”

As part of the transition, the Driving New Jersey Forward Action Team will work alongside other policy teams, an Interdisciplinary Advisory Task Force, and statewide public engagement efforts to develop recommendations that reflect the needs and opportunities of communities across New Jersey.

Kenneth J. Calemmo, Jr., Chief Operating Officer of Cooper Levenson, noted the significance of Levenson’s appointment. “We are extremely proud to see Lloyd selected for this role,” Calemmo said. “His deep understanding of South Jersey’s economic drivers — especially within Atlantic City — and his ability to connect business needs with public policy will bring tremendous value to the Governor-elect’s transition. This is an exciting moment for the firm and for the region.”

Governor-elect Sherrill’s transition process emphasizes collaboration between government, business, and community stakeholders, with a focus on lowering costs, improving quality of life, and strengthening long-term economic resilience. The Action Teams will meet regularly, engage with key stakeholders statewide, and deliver recommendations to support the administration’s goals.
