Funplex Mount Laurel Hosts the First Sensory-Friendly World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ Experience—a free event on Thursday, June 26

 Family Entertainment Center and Water Park to offer special accommodations to children with sensory needs so they can participate in the fun and learning of annual global water-safety awareness experience.

WHAT:          The Funplex Mount Laurel presents the first World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL) event structured specifically for children with sensory needs. After 15 years of pools and waterparks around the world hosting WLSL events for the general population, this year the Funplex Mount Laurel will host a free sensory-friendly swim lesson event offering special accommodations so that all families can benefit from water safety instruction and enjoy the fun of being part of this global initiative. In addition to joining water parks and other aquatic facilities across the country in hosting a general WLSL lesson on June 26, the Funplex has set aside special accommodations to ensure comfortable, safe, and confident experiences for up to 100 kids with sensory needs and their parents.

Unique opportunities for this first-of-its kind sensory-friendly event include: sensory-sensitive lessons in The Island pool—a fun space designated just for this special group; access to additional quieter spaces, including the pavilion, and the Funplex’s Sensory Room; and swim instructors experienced and trained in sensory-friendly interactions and instruction. Lessons will be presented in a group format and last for approximately 30 minutes. Each child’s lesson and admission for one adult per registered child during the instruction are free.

Funplex Mount Laurel thanks Five Star Swim School for providing instruction support for the Sensory-Friendly WLSL event. In addition to the free swim lesson, families will receive a $10 discount on admission to the entire Funplex after the WLSL event. Registration is required and space is limited.
