Jefferson Health - New Jersey's Siobhan King Honored with Nursing DAISY Award
Cherry Hill, NJ, February 26, 2021 — Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital Surgical Services nurse Siobhan King, MA, BSN, RN, CPAN, CAPA, was recently honored with a DAISY Award for compassionate and skillful care. She was presented the award by Jefferson Health – New Jersey Chief Nursing Officer Helene Burns, DPN, RN, NE-BC, shown right. A grateful patient nominated the Mount Laurel, NJ, resident for her empathy, dedication, and use of humor to help him through a difficult recovery after a colonoscopy.
Part of an international program, DAISY honorees are nominated by patients, family members, and colleagues for demonstrating excellence through clinical expertise, extraordinary compassionate care, and a high level of professionalism. DAISY Award winners are chosen following a review of nominations by Jefferson’s Clinical Recognition Committee in New Jersey. The nonprofit DAISY Foundation was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died in 1999 from complications of an auto-immune disease. The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique way of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patients’ families.
