LIGHTHOUSE EMPLOYEE WINS THE DAISY AWARD FOR EXTRAORDINARY NURSES

Licensed nurse practitioner Natalie Felder is recognized for her dedication to treating patients with substance use disorder

Mays Landing, N.J., Oct. 23, 2024Recovery Centers of America (RCA) at Lighthouse, a leading drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility serving Southern New Jersey and the Jersey Shore, today announced that Natalie Felder, LPN, was named a winner of The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses. The prestigious honor, part of the DAISY Foundation, recognizes nurses who demonstrate exceptional compassion and commitment to patient care.

During a recent ceremony, Felder was recognized by Gina Smith, director of nursing for RCA at Lighthouse. Felder received a certificate commending her as an “Extraordinary Nurse,” an award pin and a meaningful sculpture called “A Healer’s Touch,” hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Zimbabwe.

“I am thrilled to congratulate Natalie as a DAISY Award honoree,” said Smith. “As an RCA nurse since 2020, she embodies our mission of compassionate treatment and is a true example of excellence in nursing.”

Felder was nominated by a former patient who praised her for providing personalized, patient-centered care and creating a supportive, empathetic environment. The patient highlighted how Felder advocated tirelessly for their treatment, going above and beyond in her nursing duties.

“Receiving The DAISY Award is a profound honor, reflecting the impact we, as nurses, have on our patients' lives,” said Felder. “It’s humbling to join a global community of dedicated healthcare professionals committed to extraordinary care.”
