Provide Donated Turkeys, Fresh Produce, Non-Perishable Foods, And 

Winter Apparel At Free Thanksgiving Event

 

More than 900 turkeys and 20,000lbs of food provided free for families

 

CAMDEN, NJ – Mayor Victor Carstarphen will be joined by City Council Members, community leaders, NFI, EMR, The Michaels Organization, Philadelphia 76ers, CAMcare, Wellpoint, One Camden, Jack Jordan Inc. & Arab-American Community Church, the Mayor’s Staff, and volunteers as they look to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday by providing free turkeys, fresh produce, canned goods, non-perishable foods, winter coats, hats, and gloves for Camden residents.


The effort is coordinated as a part of Mayor Victor Carstarphen’s 2024 Annual Turkey Giveaway. More than 900 turkeys have been generously donated by Camden based companies EMR, NFI, The Michaels Organization, and the Philadelphia 76ers as a part of a free community event scheduled for Saturday, November 23rd at Roosevelt Plaza Park in downtown Camden. In addition, Jack Jordan Inc. & Arab-American Community Church, CAMcare, and Wellpoint will be providing 20,000 lbs of fresh produce, canned goods, non-perishables, among other food items. Local non-profit organization, One Camden, will also provide donated coats, hats, and gloves.


“This event helps to bring hope and joy to so many Camden families during the holiday season.” said Camden Mayor Victor G. Carstarphen. “I am grateful to our generous donors, community partners, and to our Team Camden volunteers as we combat food insecurity. My teammates and incredible partners inspire me every day. Let’s continue to do our part to improve the quality of life citywide.”


Items can be picked up at the following location:

 

Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Roosevelt Plaza Park (next to Camden City Hall - 520 Market Street, Camden, NJ 08101)


*Rain Location: North Camden Community Center (1000 North 6th Street, Camden, NJ 08102)
