Mount Laurel, NJ – Samaritan recently announced two new directors have joined the not-for-profit organization. Susan Lasker Hertz of Cherry Hill, N.J. has been named Director of Hospice, and Faith Needleman of Lafayette Hill, Pa. has been named Director of Quality and Compliance.

“We are proud to welcome these two experienced healthcare professionals to our care team,” said Mary Ann Boccolini, Samaritan president/CEO. “Their management experience and decades of working in hospital and hospice settings around the country will help Samaritan grow as we continue to expand to meet the ever-evolving needs of our community.”

Susan Lasker Hertz (left) comes to Samaritan with more than four decades of experience in healthcare. She most recently served as Director of Hospice and Palliative Care at Baystate Hospice in Springfield, Mass., where she was responsible for the daily and strategic operations of hospice as well as adult and pediatric palliative care. A Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) and Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN), Hertz has been published numerous times, including in the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Georgetown University, and earned a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania.

With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, Faith Needleman (right) joins Samaritan from Salem Medical Center in Salem, N.J., where she was Director of Quality, and responsible for developing quality-related programs and optimizing standards of clinical practice while maximizing patient safety. A professional mentor and training course instructor, she has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Healthcare Leadership Network of the Delaware Valley Annual Award for Distinguished Service in 2019. Faith is a dedicated volunteer, working with two churches in Camden and Philadelphia to address food insecurity and collect clothing for those in need. She has also volunteered internationally, twice spending a week in a remote section of Guatemala to help run a primary care clinic. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing, as well as a master’s degree in community health nursing with an integrative health minor, from West Chester University.
