Samaritan Appoints Phyllis Lawrence New VP of Human Resources
Mount Laurel, N.J. – Samaritan, the not-for-profit healthcare provider offering hospice care, grief support, palliative medicine, and primary care at home has named Phyllis Lawrence as its new Vice President of Human Resources.
“We are very excited to welcome Phyllis Lawrence to our leadership team,” said Mary Ann Boccolini, president and CEO of Samaritan. “Her executive-level leadership and decades of experience providing strategic and tactical human resource management, as well as developing organizational solutions, will be an invaluable asset to us.”
An organizational development and human resources executive with more than 25 years of experience, Lawrence has held high-level human resources positions with companies including Maternity Care Coalition, QSI Consulting, and the Please Touch Museum.
“I am confident Phyllis will lead Samaritan’s dedicated workforce and help us build a strong strategy for the future as we support patients and their families from across South Jersey,” added Boccolini.
Lawrence is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, the International Society for Performance Improvement, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and The Links, Inc. She is also a former first vice chairperson of OIC, Inc., an affiliate of a national non-profit organization that prepares people for today’s workforce with quality life skills development, superior job skills training, and employment readiness services.
Lawrence holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C., as well as two master’s degrees: a M.A. in education and counseling from The Ohio State University and a M.S. in business with a specialization in human resources and organizational development from Temple University. She is also a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership.
