Samaritan Honors Employee Salema Moore of Camden with Excellence Award
Samaritan honored Camden resident Salema Moore, certified home health aide, with the Judy Taylor Award for Certified Home Health Aide Service Excellence at this year’s Winterfest celebration – an annual event recognizing employees and volunteers for their service milestones and their continued dedication to Samaritan’s mission of service.
“Samaritan’s strength is in the aptitude, compassion and kindness of our health care team members, and no one demonstrates those amazing qualities as much as Salema Moore,” said Mary Ann Boccolini, president and chief executive officer, Samaritan. “Salema goes above and beyond to provide compassionate care – in fact, patients love her so much that many of them ask for her by name.”
Moore, who has worked for Samaritan for 18 years, was selected for the award after receiving glowing praise from patients and their families, as well as colleagues. Described as a team player, Moore also serves on Samaritan’s Staff Diversity Committee.
“Over the years, Salema has touched the lives of so many patients and their loved ones. With humbleness and kindness, she listens to patients to understand their wants and needs. She truly meets them where they are and then goes above and beyond to enhance their lives to help them live in comfort and dignity,” said Abigail Ayitiah, clinical manager, certified home health aide services, Samaritan.
Samaritan’s annual award for certified home health aide service excellence was named for Judy Taylor, who worked at Samaritan for 25 years, most of which was spent as a supervisor in the Certified Home Health Aide Department. Judy Taylor provided endless support to the aides, acknowledging the difficulty of their work, and the strong emotional connection they have with the patients and their families during the most difficult times.
“I am honored to be singled out for the Judy Taylor Award for Service Excellence, and to continue on the legacy of hard-working, caring home health aides that make Samaritan special,” said Moore. “I’m proud to be a member of a team that provides comfort, support, and dignity to patients and their families in our community.”
