BACKGROUND: Clayton resident JoAnn Kates decided to use $1,200 government stimulus check to purchase lunch from Scapinatos Cucina in Blackwood for staff at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital in late April. She decided to make this donation to the hospital because of her own experience as a caregiver for her late husband.
An Administrative Assistant at Life Church in Williamstown, Kates’ congregation was so inspired by her act of generosity, it donated $1,000 to provide another 100 meals, also from Scarpinatos, to Jefferson Washington Township Hospital employees. The second delivery of meals will happen Monday afternoon.
The Media is invited to cover this event. Ms. Kates will be on hand, representing Life Church.
